Welcome

Helping children grow in confidence, one small step at a time.

Whether you’re a parent navigating busy school mornings, a teacher supporting independence in the classroom, or a SEND professional looking for practical resources, we’re so glad you’re here.

Our Story

Why we created Milo & Poppy

Milo & Poppy didn’t begin as just a business idea. It began through conversations after years spent working in education and SEND.

Again and again, we saw children being expected to complete everyday tasks independently — like getting dressed — without always being explicitly taught the small steps involved.

Parents were feeling overwhelmed. Teachers were short on time. Children were becoming frustrated.

So we created something different: visual, practical, child-friendly resources that break everyday life skills into achievable steps.

Our mission is simple.

Every child deserves the opportunity to feel capable, confident and proud as they become more independent.

Milo & Poppy exists to make everyday routines feel clearer, calmer and more achievable — at home, in school and beyond.

Meet the Founders

Two teachers. One shared mission.

Between us, we bring over 20 years of experience across education, SEND, inclusion and family support.

Nathalie, co-founder of Milo and Poppy

Meet Nathalie

Nathalie has worked across Early Years, mainstream schools and specialist SEND settings, supporting children with a wide range of additional needs.

She is passionate about helping children build confidence for life — not only through academic learning, but through everyday independence.

Milo & Poppy brings together her love of education, inclusion and practical teaching into resources families can confidently use every day.

Sarah, co-founder of Milo and Poppy

Meet Sarah

Sarah has spent more than ten years working in education, supporting children and young people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

She is especially passionate about supporting children who may feel overlooked, helping them feel valued, capable and included.

Sarah helps turn ideas into practical resources that genuinely make life easier for families, teachers and professionals.

Our Experience

Built from real education experience.

Every Milo & Poppy resource is shaped by real classroom experience, SEND practice and conversations with families.

  • Early Years
  • Primary and secondary education
  • SEND and autism support
  • Mainstream and specialist settings
  • Practical independence skills
  • Family-centred support

Every activity has a purpose.

Nothing is included simply because it looks nice. Each resource is designed to support a real learning step — from vocabulary and sequencing to confidence, communication and independence.

We want parents and professionals to understand not only what to do, but why it helps.

Our Philosophy

Small steps build big confidence.

Children don’t suddenly know how to get dressed independently. Like reading or riding a bike, independence develops through modelling, repetition, visual support, encouragement and celebration.

🌈

Inclusive

Designed so every child can feel represented and supported.

🧠

Evidence-informed

Rooted in strategies used across education and SEND practice.

Behind the Scenes
